Summary:
The Shelter is located in Vilnius city centre. People who come there have social difficulties, they may have alcohol dependence or they are jobless and living in a street…
They are coming to the shelter for social activities, there's day centre where they can have workshops, and they are spending night in the shelter, too.
The stuff members in the Homeless shelter are young and innovative people, they participate in national and international conferences and projects, they constantly develop their skills in social work, and they involve new working methods to the Shelter's activities.
Tasks:
Specific tasks can be discussed personally with the volunteer.
Selection:
EVS volunteer in the Homeless shelter should be responsible and show his/her initiatives. Good English is a priority. Even basics of Russian language would be perfect (but not necessary!), because the target group speaks mostly Russian. We are waiting for young people who are motivated to work with such people, who are not afraid of challenges and who want to improve their social skills.
